Job Title: Taproom Assistant General Manager
Reports to: Taproom General Manager
Department: Taproom
Classification: Salary, Non-Exempt
Location: 87 Santilli Hwy, Everett, MA 02149

Summary of Position:
Working under the direction of the General Manager, the Assistant General Manager (AGM) is a leader in the Taproom organization. The AGM leads by example and sets the tone and standards for excellence. The AGM’s focus on a consistent high quality customer experience is obsessive. S/he is constantly looking for ways to improve the experience through Taproom practices & procedures. The AGM has a clear understanding of both company and departmental goals and their specific role in achieving those goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in conducting staff daily pre-shift meetings. Maintains positive relations with staff through timely and complete communication of all items concerning their areas of supervision, both individually and as a whole departmentally.
  • Provide daily performance-based coaching and feedback to Taproom
  • Assistant Managers and staff and assess individual performance on an ongoing basis.
  • Ensure Taproom cleanliness & maintenance consistently meets our exceptionally high standards. Maintain appropriate procedures and related checklists and assigns personnel as required to complete needed tasks.
  • Assist GM in personnel leadership through recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training & managing taproom staff. Sets proper staffing levels and weekly scheduling to meet high service level standards while maintaining staffing costs at an appropriate level.
  • Executes Taproom training plan to ensure all personnel are cross-trained in all roles (bar, retail, door, etc). Keep operating procedures and training materials current.
  • Champions continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all financial (invoices, reporting) and personnel/payroll related administrative duties are completed accurately and on time.
  • Assist in monitoring sales performance through the analysis of sales reports. Has P&L awareness and accountability.
  • Reinforce Night Shift Brewing’s policies and procedures.

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • TIPS and/or ServSafe Certified
  • Crowd Manager Certified
  • Minimum 7+ years hospitality experience required
  • Minimum 5+ years of management experience required
  • Brewery experience a plus

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of the history of Night Shift Brewing
  • Knowledge of customer and personal service. This includes customer needs-assessment, meeting company standards for service, and ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Knowledge of beer production & packaging
  • Knowledge of POS systems, scheduling software, and office applications.

Skills:

Working Environment:
The work for this position is partly performed in an taproom environment, and requires occasional trips to the warehouse and production floor, which involves multiple flights of stairs. The working environment could include:

  • Exposure to potentially hazardous chemicals, hot water, cold water, hazardous gases, and pressurized vessels
  • Exposure to machinery with moving parts
  • Wet floors

Job Title: Marketing Director
Reports to: Co-Founder (Michael Oxton)

Summary of Position
The Marketing Director will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and workflow of NSB’s Marketing department. This person will manage and grow a team of marketing, events, branding, and creative content staff, and will collaborate with other department leaders to achieve company objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day workflow of the Marketing department against key performance indicators
  • Develop and achieve goals with a departmental budget; consistently measure ROI on marketing strategies
  • Drive and support sales goals and execute brand strategies in line with Taproom and Wholesale objectives for all NSB products
  • Effectively manage, support, and grow team of marketing, branding, events, and creative content staff
  • Participate in timing and pricing strategies for all NSB products
  • Manage NSB’s PR network and communication to maximize brand exposure on both local and national levels
  • Create and/or oversee communications to build awareness and brand loyalty on multiple levels: internal staff, distributor network, retail partners, media contacts, and consumers
  • Oversee, analyze, and continuously improve NSB’s digital and social media channels
  • Assess and create strategic business, community, and corporate partnerships and/or sponsorship

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field. Master’s preferred
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible, relevant marketing leadership
  • Extensive marketing operations/project management experience
  • Food/beverage/CPG industry experience required
  • Prior experience as Marketing Director or similar strongly preferred
  • Team management experience preferred
  • Copywriting experience preferred

Knowledge:

  • Exceptional knowledge of marketing strategies, concepts, and practices
  • Working knowledge of the craft brewing industry, channels, operations, beer styles, and product pricing
  • Working knowledge of beer styles, including origins and flavor profiles

Job Title: Wholesale Delivery Driver - Night Shift Distributing
Reports to: Director of Sales
Department: Delivery

Summary of Position:
The Delivery Driver is responsible for safely and knowledgeably delivering Night Shift Distributing products to our wholesale accounts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Load the Night Shift delivery vehicle with inventory
  • Deliver beer to all Night Shift accounts throughout MA (15-30 accounts per day)
  • Manage invoices and checks via the Encompass RAS system
  • Unload truck at end of day
  • Report to Management on a weekly basis to outline goals and tasks
  • Be punctual and professional, every day
  • Bring an energetic, cooperative, proactive, self-motivated attitude
  • Grow within Night Shift and expand your role as a key member of our team

Education & Experience:

  • Entry level to 2 years delivery experience.

Title: Busser/Bar Back
Reports to: Taproom Assistant Manager
Classification: Hourly, Tipped
Location: 87 Santilli Highway, Everett, MA

Summary of Position
The primary responsibility of a Busser/Bar Back is to ensure that the Taproom floor is clear of glassware and trash, and to assist the bar in cleaning and restocking glassware, restocking packaged beer coolers, and flipping kegs when necessary. Other duties include maintenance of floors, furniture, and restrooms throughout shifts, as well as other duties when assigned. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Keep workspaces behind the bar and on the Taproom floor clean; keeping bathrooms clean.
  • Greet all guests within 5 feet with a smile.
  • Respond promptly to requests from customers in a polite and professional fashion.
  • Ensure clean glasses, bar equipment, and working areas.
  • Comply with all health, safety, and hygiene standards and policies.
  • Monitor inventory throughout shift.
  • Restock bar and retail inventory as needed.
  • Check glass washers for proper chemical mixture and volume.
  • Maintain soap and towels at hand sinks in all bars.
  • Collect trash from all barrels throughout shift, as well as wiping down walls behind trash containers.
  • Distribute clean bar towels; collects soiled ones and discard them in the appropriate place.
  • Promptly and professionally handle guest issues, and communicate problems and concerns to management.
  • Thank guests; offer a warm farewell, and invite them back upon departure.
  • Attend and satisfactorily complete all required training as assigned and required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • TIPS and/or Serve Safe certified
  • Crowd manager certified
  • Brewery experience a plus
  • Prior experience serving the public a plus
  • Prior experience in fast paced hospitality a plus
