Delivery Driver - Night Shift Distributing
Bartender
Beverage Merchandiser


Title: Bartender
Classification: Part-time, hourly, tipped
Reports to: Taproom General Manager
Location: 87 Santilli Highway, Everett, MA

Summary of Position
Bartenders are responsible for the experience that each guest has when visiting our Taproom. Bartenders are responsible for serving all of our guests quickly, professionally and with a friendly demeanor. Bartenders are also responsible for the general cleanliness of all workstations and guest facing spaces.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet customers promptly, within 45 seconds of their arrival, with a smile and acknowledgment. If you cannot get to a guest within the time frame, greet them and let them know you will be with them shortly.
  • Communicate with guests using clear words and enthusiasm, eye contact, and positive tone and body language. Make guests feel appreciated through your actions.
  • Be at full alert to guest signals, such as when they are raising their hands or looking directly at you, for orders.
  • Process guest payments using the POS system; make change accurately.
  • Work as a team with all Night Shift Brewing's personnel to maintain an effective atmosphere with efficient service.
  • Lead tours and educate our customers about our beer, beer in general, and the processes behind making it.
  • Be proactive about keeping the workspace behind the bar, the retail space, and the Taproom floor clean, with bathrooms clean and fully stocked.
  • Check identification of customers to verify they are of legal drinking age.
  • Recommend beers to customers that the Taproom has decided to highlight.
  • Limit problems related to customers' excessive drinking by following established procedures.
  • Arrange merchandise and packaged beer into attractive and functional displays.
  • Comply with all health, safety, and hygiene standards and policies.
  • Monitor inventory as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as needed.

Experience and Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • TIPS and/or Serve Safe certified
  • Crowd manager certified
  • Brewery experience a plus
  • Prior experience serving the public
  • Prior experience in fast paced hospitality environment

Skills

  • Effective communication skills
  • Efficient decision-making in occasionally stressful situations
  • Awareness of signs indicating intoxication of guests and other concerning factors
  • Ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision
  • Ability to make calculations and figure out change quickly
  • A good memory to recall regular guests, remember drink orders from large groups, etc.

Title: Bar Back
Reports to: Taproom Assistant Manager
Department: Taproom
Classification: Hourly, Tipped

SUMMARY OF POSITION
The primary responsibility of a Bar Back is to ensure that the Taproom floor is clear of glassware and trash and to assist the bar in cleaning and restocking glassware, restocking packaged beer coolers and assist in flipping kegs when necessary. Other duties include maintenance throughout shifts of floors, furniture, restrooms and to perform other duties as assigned. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Keeping the workspace behind the bar, on the Taproom floor and bathrooms clean 
  • Greet all guests within 5 feet with a smile 
  • Respond promptly to requests from customers in a polite and professional fashion 
  • Ensure clean glasses, bar equipment and working areas 
  • Comply with all health, safety and hygiene standards and policies 
  • Monitor inventory throughout shift 
  • Restock bar glassware, kegs and retail cases and merchandise inventory as needed 
  • Checks glass washers for proper chemical mixture and volume 
  • Maintains soap and towels at hand sinks in all bars 
  • Collect trash from all barrels throughout shift, as well as wiping down walls behind trash containers 
  • Distributes clean bar towels, as well as, collects soiled ones and discards them in the appropriate place 
  • Promptly and professionally handles guest issues and communicates problems and concerns to management 
  • Thanks guest, offers a warm farewell, and invites them back upon departure 
  • Attends, and satisfactorily completes all required training as assigned and required 
  • Performs other duties as assigned 

Education & Experience:

Job Title: Wholesale Delivery Driver
Reports to: Director of Sales

Summary of Position:
The Delivery Driver is responsible for safely and knowledgeably delivering Night Shift Distributing products to our wholesale accounts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Load the Night Shift delivery vehicle with inventory
  • Deliver beer to all Night Shift accounts throughout MA (15-30 accounts per day)
  • Manage invoices and checks via the Encompass RAS system
  • Unload truck at end of day
  • Report to Management on a weekly basis to outline goals and tasks
  • Be punctual and professional, every day
  • Bring an energetic, cooperative, proactive, self-motivated attitude

  • NSD partner brands and their packaging

Job Title: Beverage Merchandiser
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Summary of Position:
The Beverage Merchandiser role is focused on assisting Account Managers with merchandising support in their retail accounts helping to increase sales at each account. Daily activities include stocking and rotating of product from backroom inventories, building displays, maintaining cold boxes and the delivery and placement of point of sale materials. The role requires establishing and maintaining a strong professional rapport with retail personnel, based on trustworthiness, respect, communication and a high level of customer service. Candidates should be motivated, hard working individuals with aspirations for sales and available to work occasional evenings/weekends.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation

  •  Rotate product through clear, organized processes.
    • Follow these process for each accounts specific requirements.
  •  Establish and maintain a rapport with key individuals at accounts.
    • Obtain feedback from accounts on effectiveness of their individual rotation procedures.
  •  Ensure point-of-sale material is placed effectively on shelves and displays.
    •  Obtain feedback from accounts on effectiveness of their specific POS strategy.
    •  Actively seek opportunities to place further POS at accounts
  • Support Account Managers to service accounts within requirements.
    • Identify and communicate individual account challenges and opportunities to the appropriate account managers.
  • Work closely with Account Managers to target and sell our products deeper into accounts.
    • Identify accounts that are not being penetrated with our products and develop a plan to increase business at such accounts.
  • Help with sampling/tasting/trial events at accounts as needed.
  • Respond to all communications (calls, texts, emails - internal & external) within 24 hours.
  • Be on time with all deliverables to your manager (weekly plan, reports, etc).
  • Be punctual for all meetings (both company and client meetings).
  • Use Lilypad consistently to keep and share a digital record of account visits, notes, and all other relevant information
  • Continue personal education on all aspects of NSD portfolio brands production methods, recipes, and beer styles

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma
  •  Minimum 2 years bev industry experience in a customer facing role
  • Experience working with chain retail beverage buyers a plus
  • Driver’s license, a clean driving record and own transport
  • MA Resident

Knowledge:

  • Understanding of Sales closing techniques
  • Familiarity with On and Off Premise business practices
  • Brand specific information (history, brewing style, key staff etc.)
  • General awareness of Craft Beer Industry Trends
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
