Job Title: Staff Accountant
Reports to: Controller
Department: Finance
Classification: Salary, Non-Exempt

Summary of Position:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for day-to-day accounting activities of the company including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash transactions. The Staff Accountant will provide assistance with month-end, quarter-end and year-end close as necessary. This position is involved in certain aspects of recurring and special projects and reports directly to the Controller.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Maintain master data in ERP system related to accounts receivable customers and accounts payable vendors.
  • Enter vendor invoices into the system following review and proper approvals.
  • Issue timely payment to vendors.
  • Review and process credit card transactions and expense reports
  • Maintain invoice and payment documentation.
  • Review incoming payments from customers and enter payments into system for timely accounts receivable reporting.
  • Provide Controller weekly cash reconciliations and snapshots of accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll and 401K remittance. 
  • Maintaining schedules for prepaid expenses and fixed assets and posting associated GL entries.
  • Perform monthly closing procedures as assigned, including monthly reconciliations, closing journal entries, and periodic reporting.
  • Assist in the implementation of process improvements and best practices
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by the Controller.

Education & Experience:

  • Associate’s degree or higher with accounting concentration.
  • 1 to 5 years’ experience in accounting.
  • Brewery experience a plus.

Knowledge:

  • GAAP
  • ERP Workflow related to accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Understanding of point-of-sale logistics and revenue recognition
  • Experience working with general ledger applications
  • Basic knowledge of applicable tax issues

Skills:

  • Process accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll transactions
  • Prepare account reconciliations for accounts receivable, accounts payable and cash.
  • Valid drivers license

Job Title: Cellarperson

Night Shift Brewing continues to expand and we’re looking for awesome individuals to help us create and share world class beer. Currently, we are searching for a Cellarperson. We demand a lot from every one of our employees, and this job is no different. A degree of self-sufficiency is a must, coupled with an interest in learning processes and a keen eye for process improvement and quality. All of these mandatory requirements come with the ability to develop a leadership role within Night Shift and move around within brewery operations (though, honestly, we all do a lot of everything every day, which you’ll do too!) The work demands of the job will be changing throughout your time here, so you’ll need to think quickly and respond to changes quickly and effectively. We’re small and agile - we change all the time!

Summary of Position:
The Cellarperson is responsible for both operations within the cellar and beer packaging. He/she follows the outlined Standard Operations Procedures and adheres to safety protocols throughout the brewer. He/she works closely with other cellarpeople and brewers attempting to minimize cycle times between empty tanks and packaging equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation

  • Understand and execute the daily schedules developed by the Production Manager
  • Utilize the SOPs developed for every process: transferring beer, CIP, carbonating beer, packaging beer, etc.
  • Package beer in accordance with prescribed metrics, including but not limited to: dissolved oxygen content, can seam inspections, carbonation retention, etc.
  • Transfer beer in accordance with prescribed SOPs, including but not limited to: recording dissolved oxygen content, measuring pre- and post-carbonation levels, ensuring maximum yields that are within specification, etc.
  • Perform CIPs following the outlined SOPs and recording all relevant data (ATP testing, D.O. measuring)
  • Rack beer into and from oak barrels

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 1 year experience in a packaging brewery
  • Brewery experience a plus.

Knowledge:

  • Understanding of brewing chemistry & QC.
  • Understanding of beer workflow within OBeer, or similar SAP product
  • Understanding the requirement of recording all relevant data
  • Understanding the beer transfer process and relevant metrics
  • Understanding the beer packaging process and relevant metrics
  • Understanding a CIP/COP process, chemicals, etc.

Skills:

  • Operation of various pumps, hosing, carbonation stones, Anton Paar C-Box measurement device
  • Operation of a Wild Goose 250 four head 16oz can filler and additional machinery
  • Operation of a Meheen four head 750mL bottle filler and additional machinery
  • CIP/COP understanding and execution
  • Understanding and use of PPE equipment for various chemical handling throughout the brewery

Job Title: Door Staff
Reports to: Taproom General Manager
Department: Taproom

Summary of Position: The Taproom Door Staff is responsible for keeping the Taproom guests and staff safe while also remaining welcoming calm always. One of the core duties is checking IDs of guests entering the building as well as pre-screening to head off any issues that may arise once in the space.

  • Politely greet all guests and welcome them to our Taproom
  • Provide security at the front door of our Taproom
  • Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests here at Night Shift Brewing

  • Help maintain order on busy days of business
  • Check each guest's ID and ensure that it is a valid form of identification
  • Ensure that guests are not acting inappropriately, and help to protect our property and equipment from damage
  • Assist in ensuring that all access points and fire exits remain clear at all times
  • Interact and communicate effectively with first responders in emergency situations
  • Assist managers in controlling the number of guests in the taproom at all times
  • Assist in deescalating situations as needed
  • Assist in escorting guests out of the Taproom as needed
  • Refuse entry to guests showing signs of intoxication or cause concern
  • Remain in constant contact with floor manager
  • Ensure that intoxicated guests are not driving to the best of your ability

Education & Experience:

  • Prior experience checking IDs
  • Preferred prior experience in working door
  • Prior experience in the liquor or bar industry
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • TIPS certified
  • CPR & First Aid Certified
  • Crowd manager certification

Knowledge:

  • Understanding of beer production & packaging
  • Familiarity with basic styles of malt beverages and applicable raw materials required for production

Title: Account Manager - Night Shift Distributing

Summary of Position:
The Account Manager is responsible for selling the NSD portfolio of products and establishing/maintaining a productive sales relationship with our wholesale account partners.

  • Establish and maintain sales objectives and goals that will be reviewed on a regular basis with management
  • Maintain and grow sales within your account base amongst a mix of on and off premise accounts.
  • Develop and add new accounts as directed by NSD leadership
  • Regularly monitor supply, demand, pricing, competitive brands, industry trends, and positive/negative feedback, and communicate findings with management
  • Regularly monitor POS, placements and product freshness at all accounts

  • Conduct staff trainings at retail and restaurant accounts, fostering education of NSD brands and beers

Title: Office Coordinator

Summary of Position:
The Office Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day administration activities including accounts receivable, accounts payable, vendor communication, the ordering of supplies and generally making sure that the Chelsea office operates as efficiently as possible. The Office Coordinator will support the sales team by fielding all inbound sales inquiries, directing them to the assigned account manager or responding where appropriate.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Triage a high volume of incoming email and phone sales inquiries
  • Respond promptly to all inbound sales inquiries and work with account managers to ensure all inquiries are dealt with in a timely and satisfactory manner

  • Support account managers on a variety of pre and post-sale projects such as entering sales orders into the system, monitoring inventory, performing product freshness surveys and onsite product tastings.
